中央研究院院士余英时教授,是钱穆先生手创的香港新亚书院第一届毕业生、哈佛大学历史学博士,亦是香港中文大学荣誉法学博士、香港大学荣誉文学博士和美国明德学院荣誉文学博士。先後在美国密西根大学、哈佛大学、耶鲁大学讲授中国史,现任普林斯顿大学东亚系讲座教授。学术研究重点是中国思想史与社会史,已出版中英文专著数十种,在学术界有重大影响。因余英时教授望重一时且有极高学术成就,1994年曾被中央研究院选为院长候补人。《现代儒学论》,收录了“现代儒学的回顾与展望棗从明清思想基调的转换看儒学的现代发展”、“中国现代价值观念
