“Good morning, Lisa.” he said.
“Uff,” she said. One eye became visible, dark, large, and fogged with sleep. She surveyed him for a moment and uttered another small sound.
“'S too early,” she said sleepily, and the eye vanished.
“Not for me.” Eddie said, and swung his legs over the side of the bed. A perfectly marvellous bed, he had noticed; so few bachelor girls had beds that were really big enough. A girl who had that much sense was a girl to keep in mind.
He padded toward a door, naked, found a small neat kitchen just beyond, as he had expected, and the makings of coffee. He set up the pot and, while the water heated, he tried the other door. It was the bathroom, right enough.
There was an electric razor, and there were no wet stockings hanging on the shower rod. As he shaved, he thought more and more approvingly of this Lisa and remembered, with a shade of regret, that this was definitely going to be a one-night deal. Lucky I didn't meet her last month, he thought. She might have changed quite a few plans.
