'Before the coming of white men, we always had plenty; our children never cried from hunger, neither were our people in want'. These bitter words sum up the Indians' attitude towards the Europeans who settled in America and began grabbing their lands, plundering their villages and driving them farther and farther west. The bloody clashes in the latter half of the last century culminated in the Indian massacre at Wounded Knee in 1890, where white man finally triumphed over Indian.
