The post-compulsory sector of education is in crisis. This crisis has many interrelated elements, the most outstanding of which are to do with resources, demographic change, public confidence, curriculum relevance, structural reorganization and staff development. The many problems in all these areas highlight the need for better management and improved management education for those involved with the post-compulsory sector. This collection of readings is designed to bring about an improved awareness of the nature of the crisis and its implications, and to propose various conceptual frameworks and analytical models likely to be useful in the management of change.
