"The U.S. Census Bureau has reported that 56.7 million Americans had some type of disability in 2010, which represents 18.7 percent of the civilian noninstitutionalized population included in the 2010 Survey of Income and Program Participation. The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) provides disability benefits through the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. As of December 2015, approximately 11 million individuals were SSDI beneficiaries, and about 8 million were SSI beneficiaries. SSA currently considers assistive devices in the nonmedical and medical areas of its program guidelines. During determinations of substantial gainful activity and income eligibility for SSI benefits, the reasonable cost of items, devices, or services applicants need to enable them to work with their impairment is subtracted from eligible earnings, even if those items or services are used for activities of daily living in addition to work. In addition, SSA considers assistive devices in its medical disability determination process and assessment of work capacity. The book contains: • a detailed discussion of graphs, matroids, vector spaces and the algebra of generalized minors, relevant to network analysis (particularly to the construction of efficient circuit simulators) • a detailed discussion of submodular function theory in its own right; topics covered include, various operations, dualization, convolution and Dilworth truncation as well as the related notions of prinicpal partition and principal lattice of partitions. In order to make the book useful to a wide audience, the material on electrical networks and that on submodular functions is presented independently of each other. The hybrid rank problem , the bridge between (topological) electrical network theory and submodular functions, is covered in the final chapter. The emphasis in the book is on low complexity algorithms, particularly based on bipartite graphs. The book is intended for self-study and is recommended to designers of VLSI algorithms. The detailed interrogation statements of Souren Bose and seven other top leaders of the movement will, for the first time, reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the movement. Likewise this account presents the most authentic version of the critiques of CPI (ML) policies and practices in general and those of Charu Majumdar in particular by the Chinese Communist Party. As the author had occasion not only to deal with the challenges of the movement but had also developed personal rapport with many of its principal protagonists, this document-based narrative has the unmistakable flavour of authenticity coupled with deep understanding of the core issues involved. Way back in 1967, it was the author's insistence as the SP of Darjeeling District on basic land reforms before considering any large-scale police intervention that eventually led to the formation of five land reforms committees, first of its kind in India. The distressing and persistent lack of understanding of the core issues on the part of the governmental authorities in dealing with the current phase of Maoist movement has been brought out forcefully in the author's introductory observations which deserve a close look. The unorthodox and innovative measures adopted during his handling of the movement in the Naxalbari region in the mid-sixties and later in the early 1970s are in striking contrast with the usual hamhanded methods in dealing with the violent Tebhaga movement of Bengal peasantry during 1940s or even the current Maoist movements in about a dozen States of India. The author's analytical treatment of the two phases of the Naxalite movement brings to the fore many unknown facets of those tumultuous years-the 'purist' 1967-68 phase and the 'mixed idealism-debasement' phase of 1969-72. in juxtaposing the ongoing CPI (Maoist) turbulence against the aforesaid two phases, one is kept wondering whether India is witnessing a raging 'Prairie fire' after having gone through the failed Maoist 'spring thunder' during 1967-72. The lessons of Naxalbari, according to the author, will ultimately decide which of the contending sides will win the battle for the hearts and minds of the oppressed people in the dark backyards of 'shining' India.

Dies ist auch dringend an der Zeit, denn die letzten Endes doch wohl unbestreitbare (und unaufgelöste!) negative Gegenübertragung Freuds hat sich in der Geschichtsschreibung der Psychoanalyse noch lange fortgesetzt. Sie hielt zath und ohne weiteren Verstehensversuch an einer einseitigen Perspektive fest: Dora als "unangenehmes Geschöpf, das ständig die Rache vor die Liebe stellte", als eine wenig liebenswürdige Persönlichkeit, ja als "eine der abstoßendsten Hysterikerinnen", deren Tod für ihre Umgebung ein Segen zu sein schien. \({ }^{30}\) Erst neuerdings kann auch gesehen werden, daß Freud und Dora sich wechselseitig nicht mochten, daß sie irgendwie nicht miteinander konnten, wozu jeder von beiden sein Teil beitrug. Den ersten, entscheidenden Schritt zu einer neuen Sicht 'Doras' tut Erik H. Erikson 1961. Er stellt die phasenspezifische psychosoziale Situation der adoleszenten Dora in den Mittelpunkt; ich gehe im Abschnitt 7 näher darauf ein. Die glänzende Studie des New Yorker Literaturwissenschaftlers Steven Marcus "Freud und Dora. Roman, Geschichte, Krankengeschichte" von 1974 gipfelt in der These, daB Freud in der Arbeit mit Dora, besessen vom Deutungsdämon, zum Wahrheitsfanatiker wird. "Als Advokat der Natur, der Sexualităt, der Offenheit und Ehrlichkeit" merkt er nicht, wie sehr verschieden die Realität, auf der er besteht, von der Realität ist, die Dora meint und an die sie sich klamment. "Statt Dora sich ihre eigene Geschichte aneignen zu lassen, eignet Freud sie sich an". Unerbittlich schließlich weist 1982 der kanadische Psychoanalytiker Patrick J. Mahony auf Freuds therapeutische Unzulänglichkeiten hin, vor allem aber auf die anschließend über ein halbes Jahrhundert währende psychoanalytische Orthodoxie, die jene Defizite harmonisierte und verleugnete. \({ }^{31}\)
