Der lettische Gromeister und Schachtheoretiker Aaron Nimzowitsch (1886-1935) schuf mit seinen beiden Werken Mein System und Die Praxis meines Systems zwei der erfolgreichsten und meistgelesenen Schachbcher aller Zeiten. Bereits die im zuvor erschienenen Bchlein Die Blockade skizzierten Ideen erregten sehr groe Aufmerksamkeit in der Schachwelt. Das zwischen 1925 und 1927 entstandene Buch Mein System enthielt dann eine umfassende Darstellung der revolutionren Schachtheorien Nimzowitschs. Im Jahre 1928 rundete er sein Gesamtwerk schlielich mit Die Praxis meines Systems ab. In der Form einer Sammlung von 109 Partien - ausschlielich aus seiner eigenen Meisterpraxis - griff er darin die Konzepte aus Mein System erneut auf und veranschaulichte sie anhand ausfhrlicher Kommentare und Analysen. Die Praxis meines Systems wurde von Nimzowitsch in sechs groe Abschnitte gegliedert, welche den zentralen Strategien (z.B. Zentralisierung, Hemmung oder Prophylaxe) seines Gesamtkonzepts entsprechen. Einer kurzen theoretischen Einfhrung zu Beginn jeden Abschnittes folgt jeweils ein ausfhrlich kommentierter Partienteil. Beim Partienstudium kann die Kenntnis des Vorgngerwerkes zwar hilfreich sein, ist aber keineswegs eine zwingende Voraussetzung. Nimzowitsch hat Die Praxis meines Systems nmlich als ein eigenstndiges und in sich abgeschlossenes Werk konzipiert. Wo es fr das Verstndnis notwendig war, wurden die entsprechenden Inhalte aus Mein System daher erneut vorgestellt. Die hier vorliegende Neuausgabe basiert auf der 1931 erschienenen Ausgabe, deren Originaltext ungekrzt und unverndert - inklusive der traditionellen Zeichensetzung und Rechtschreibung - bernommen wurde. Lediglich offensichtliche Fehler (z.B. in den Partienotationen) wurden bereinigt. Im Buch wurde auerdem durchgngig eine vereinheitlichte Notation verwendet (Hauptvarianten in Fettdruck und Langnotation bzw. Nebenvarianten in Kurznotation) und zahlreiche zustzliche Schachdiagramme hinzugefgt, um die Lesbarkeit des Textes zu verbessern.
